As I sit here with my English muffin...

Isn't that a weird post title? I wonder what I should do today.

School supplies still need to be bought. The kids go back to school a little late this year due to a school consolidation.

The laundry monster is multiplying downstairs.

My soon to be 5th grader needs to do more of his summer writing assignment. I'm his coach. Picture me sitting next to him: "Only one more sentence. I know it's in there somewhere."

Scrubbing the bathtub doesn't sit high on my to-do list today.

You know what? I got it. I'll take the kids to my favorite kind of store, the bookstore. Maybe I'll get myself a book to celebrate turning 21 twice today. Or maybe I should switch the numbers around and be 24 again. It does seem like just yesterday :) Anyway, I think I'll enjoy being 42 (glad that I got that number out easily) and eat a cupcake or two today.

Now back to that English muffin...

Oh man! Happy birthday to my sweet poet friend. I hope your day is awesome. Everything you want it to be. DON'T KILL THE LAUNDRY MONSTER ON YOUR BIRTHDAY. Do that tomorrow. Today is your day. Go to the bookstore. Have a most beautiful day, my friend. I love ya. :) And I'll be thinking of you today.

Happy birthday! I think you should buy 42 books (or spend $42 on books for yourself) because that's how many green beans you'll have to eat before you can be excused from the dinner table now.

Ohh, Happy Birthday :) 42 is good... welcome to the club, I just left it and it has more grace and warmth than you would otherwise think.

The bookstore is a genius idea... I hope you have a lovely day and many more blessings in the coming year.

Happy Happy Birthday, Kelly dear! I think you should spend the day dancing and then dancing some more, and when you are done dancing to some really loud music, maybe from the 80's, you should eat some chocolate cake with molten fudge erupting from the center and when you are done wiping the fudge from your face, you should light some candles and sit in the tub and read all those books you got at the bookstore, and when you are ready to fall asleep, may your Prince Charming come and give you a kiss and tuck you in.

Happy Birthday Kelly!

Here's a little poem about you, in honor of your special day:

Her words are like a canvas of colors
Painting vividness and contrast of emotions
She writes with such beauty and grace
Her warmness inviting you in like hot cocoa

She waits until the eleven o'clock hour
For freedom and peace from the sea monsters
Her fingers and thoughts type rapidly
Trying not to disturb the squid or whirlpool surrounding her

Her heart is so pure and sweet
Like fresh morning dew or nectarine
She is wise, funny, wonderful and true
The great times are ahead, at age 42~ :-)

Happy birthday! Today is my son's birthday too-he turned 8, oh my... My husband's is the 9th, so the two "share" a birthday cake. (I was all set to bake him his own this year but he said not to bother since we never manage to finish both cakes...)I need to get back to my blog but with school started I need to still make it a priority.

BTW, would you really want to be 21 again (or 24 for that matter?) LOL! And stop scrubbing that bathtub-you are right when you say it can wait!

Go put that English muffin away and enjoy some cupcakes - happy birthday to you, lady!

And late consolidation? That sounds like something that deserves a post (unless I missed it, but I thought I generally do a good job of reading....)
