What the Kids Are Saying

Time for another installment of "What the Kids Are Saying."

"Justice will be mine." - said by my almost 5 year old daughter after completing a match on the Wii.

"Mommy, I found kissing games." - said by my daughter when she decided to surf on her online dress up game site.

"I need my pillow freshened up." - said by my prince of a 10 year old son who isn't feeling that well this week. I think he said it every 10 minutes :)

"Mom, what are those veins on your legs?" - said by my way too observant 7 year old at the pool.

"Mom, you just don't get it." - said by my 13 year old son. My response, "I don't get YOU most of the time :)"

"Mommy, I don't know who you are when you take off your glasses." - Jillian freaks out when I take my glasses off. Looks like no contacts for me for awhile.

"Mom, can we drive to the Caribbean?" - said by my 7 year old when we were watching the Travel Channel.

"Mom, I have a smaller head." - said by my 10 year old who is comparing cranium sizes with his brother.

"Mom, I hope you drive better in real life." - said by my smug 13 year old son as he watched me crash over and over again in a Wii racing game.

And my best one for the week said by Miss Jillian: "Mom, Big Baby (her favorite overpowering baby doll) told me to have you make meatloaf tonight. If you don't, she may freak out." Well, guess who's making meatloaf tonight? I just wish that Jillian would eat it!

OH, these are great! I've heard this one before: "Mom, why do you have those pimples on your face?" :/

And Big Baby reminds me of a certain stuffed dinosaur at our house who joins us at the dinner table whenever I serve pork chops. His name? Pork Chop Eater, of course.

Oh my word...they say the funniest things. Glad you drive better in real life too. I stink at Mario Kart on the wii

Ha! so good! I should have noted all our four kids quips over the years, some of which are included here. They are so easily forgotten.
"Mom, you just don't get it." was a frequent one which applied to both of us.

I am still freaked out thinking about Big Baby on the swing - I would make meatloaf too!

T Rex said something funny the other day - I've been waiting to be able to quote him. First, let me preface - he has a really deep voice for a two-year old. She saw his toys scattered about and in that deep voice stated, "We have to pick up this mess..." Ahh - love that child. Makes up for when he lets out the most unbelievable whine imaginable.

I think I like Jillian's ones the best! Hahaha! Little girls are so funny! And guess what I made meat loaf last night!! :-) I made the diva eat some then rewarded her with jelly beans afterwards. :)

Those kids are precious! Love the way that girl thinks!!! :O)

Love that she calls her doll Big Baby...and I was impressed with the meatloaf comment until I read that she won't eat it. Sounds like her and Deaglan would get on splendidly. He could be starving but won't eat unless you put hotdogs, nuggets or cheese in front of him. Great post!!

I promise I am still planning to call you. Still no sleep but other than that things are good. Hugs!!

they are hilarious...Love it! I can't wait for the day my little one starts delivering one-liners...oh wait, never mind.

Oh, that little Jillian is a firecracker. I can't believe she won't eat the meatloaf even though Big Baby will. I'd have thought she'd have asked for pizza. :)

I know we all use LOL a lot, but it seriously fits because I was sitting here laughing out loud at all those hilarious one-liners. I am so glad you write these down because they are too precious to forget.

The one about your son asking about driving to the Caribbean made me laugh because it reminded me of something my daughter once said. She was in her early twenties when some of her friends decided to go to Alaska. My daughter asked if they were taking a boat. They said no, that they were driving. She said "You can't drive to Alaska!" They tried explaining to her that you could. She said, "How can you drive when there's all that water between us and Alaska?" They told her they were driving through Canada.

She said, "Alaska is connected to Canada? Then why is it always down by Hawaii on the map?"

Oh my goodness...your kids are the best! Can you freshen my pillow...lol. Now I have heard everything!

Kids are SO funny! I have enjoyed keeping a list of the sweet and funny things my children have said throughout their lives. They are such precious treasures to hold on to. I'm sure some day they will just love to go back and read through them to see what all they've said. :0) That will be fun!

I hope you and your precious family are having wonderful week!

Nothing like quality time with the fam :) Too funny, I love how much you can glean about their personality through their funny words. I definitely gather each one has a sense of humor... thanks for the giggles.

hilarious. kinda freaky when dolls start dictating the menu though... :)

I believe in parallel but overlapping universes. Kids give us hints that the universe they live in is different than ours, and that is half the fun! (Keep eavesdropping and sharing!)

I love when kids request food that they themselves won't eat. {*grin*}

Septembermom...these are all such classic comments! And it is funny how each comment fits so well with the age group of your child who made it! You should write a book!
