Hmm, what should I do this summer?

I wonder if I can think of 15 things that I would like to do this summer. Okay, I'll put down my forkfull of mashed potatoes to give it a shot.

  1. Organize the avalanche closet.
  2. Give away those pink shorts that I haven't worn since 1990.
  3. Don't let the bees win as I try to eat lunch on my deck.
  4. Take that leap and finally eat a plum.
  5. Venture into the attic to find tag sale items.
  6. Impress my snoozing kids with my art "knowledge" when we visit the museum.
  7. Speed up my sun lotion application time for each kid. 4 kids + hubby = lots of lotion.
  8. Read for pleasure again. Ooh, that sounds heavenly!
  9. Be brave and color my hair once and for all. The grays are mocking me.
  10. Stop running for cover when I see that neighbor who gives me the cold shoulder. At least, her son doesn't bully my guy anymore.
  11. Record "STOP THAT!" and play it on demand when kids get into mischief. It may be on continuously some days :)
  12. Graciously accept that at least one of my 4 bathing suits is somewhat flattering. I have to say this mantra as I look in the mirror, "It looks okay. It looks okay."
  13. Sneak in some school review work for my rascals before their brains go too mushy.
  14. Get my poetic hat back on. Hope it still fits.
  15. Find hubby a job, or join the circus. How would I look in those big clown shoes?
Well, my mashed potatoes are cold now. Still good though :)

I am about to pack myself in a suitcase with a bottle of hair color and come over for a hair color party. I have a box already and my roots need to be done. SEnd me your address.. :)
When you do that recording can you send me a copy too?
This post was great.

#4--a plum will seem unpleasant at first, as its peel is sour (slightly bitter) but paired with the extra sweet inside, it makes for a tangy fruit. YUM

#11--a guest pastor was jokingly telling us that one of his sons requires a daily whooping.... "Have I whooped you today yet? No? Well come over here anyway... I'm sure you did something that required disciplinary action." It was really funny.

#15--I still have you and your family in my prayers.

I think you should record "Stop that" on a continuous loop and just play it non-stop all day. It will be easier.

And I'm hoping the job thing gets resolved soon.

Reading for pleasure is wonderful. I started again about 2 weeks ago. Heavenly...

I'm still waiting for the hair salon story. Did I miss it?

I've been considering recording, "Feet on the ground" and "No thank you" to play for T Rex.

And you certainly deserve to get in some fun reading, too!

Had to smile at you list and many are things I ought to do, It's lovely to arise on a morning with the sun shinning and think of all the things you're going to do........then go to the beach instead, Guess that's life. lol

Have a great week-end,
Yvonne.

What happened to #16? You know the one....naked buff men on a tropical island overlooking a sapphire sea, rubbing your feet and serving you drinks on white sands... :D

Loved the list but don't forget to have some fun this summer. You deserve it. You will find your poetic voice once again. I miss your quick fires my dear.

I would start with the closet, because it is completely within reach, doable, unnegotiable, and will give you the energy for EVERYthing else.

GOod luck!

I will love a copy of your "Stop that" recording. AND once you finish with your closet, feel free to start mine.

Dye that hair Missy! It will look great. I am sure you won't regret it!

I'm impressed! #11...hahaha! I need one of those for hubby. Plums are delicious, the ones with the red inside are sweeter

I have to second putting "Stop that!" on continuous loop. It's a safe bet that 99% of the time it is appropriate.

Re: hair coloring - I worked hard for each and every one of these white hairs and that is the color they are staying. But you can do what you want - maybe a bright pink or dark purple with stripes?

Aw it has been so long and you still crack me up! I need to do many of those too!

I love your list! And at least you have 4 bathing suits to choose from, I have not owned a bathing suit in over 10 years! I need to go buy one and love what ever is shown in the mirror.

Wait wait wait. You've never had a plum? KELLY GO BUY A PLUM!

And you still haven't colored your hair? tsk tsk

As for the sunscreen, have you seen the spray bottles now? I can get a kid done in under 30 seconds with them :)

Number 8; the best thing I could've done. Carve time out to read. Hoping you get that time, too. Number 11; after I chuckled, I immediately thought about how I could apply this to my household also. ;) Number 15; praying for you everyday. Keep your head up, I know an awesome blessing is on its way. :)
