Those "Memorable" Mommy Moments

Here are my Top 10 Typical Mommy Moments from Mother's Day Weekend:
  1. "Do I have to take a shower, Mom?" (Would you rather I Febreeze you?)

  2. "Mommy, please get my ball stuck up high in that bush." ( A hockey stick came in handy.)

  3. "Mom, Daddy is watching a scary show!" ( No "24" for my 7 year old gratefully.)

  4. "Mom, I forgot to tell you that I am supposed to read a non fiction book by Monday. Can we go to the library on Mother's Day?" (Good thing that I could raid my older son's bookcase.)

  5. "Mommy, I HAVE to wear my pink flower pants!! I don't want them to be in the wash now." (She does have a bunch of pink flower pants. Of course, she had to have that particular pair.)

  6. "Mom, how long do I have to watch them?" (Just play along side them. I'm not asking for a huge commitment of attention here.)

  7. "Mom, my shoe is on the roof." ( Don't ask.)

  8. "Mommy, why don't you wear your purple shirt? Please, please, please." (Honey, that shirt doesn't fit Mommy anymore. I can't wear a belly shirt like Madonna.)

  9. "Mom, I don't want to wear my jacket. I hate jackets. I won't wear a jacket. Mom, why do I have to wear a jacket?" (This went on for 10 minutes. It was chilly on Mother's Day. My 7 year old finally gave in to wearing a jacket. He comes in after 2 minutes and says, "Mom, you were right." Alleluia! They see that Mommy at least knows something :)

  10. "Mom, Happy Mother's Day! You're the best." (Those are the moments that keep me going.)
Hope to visit you all today! So busy these days :)

Awe! Great post, Kelly! Love that last one especially. It is so great to hear those words "you were right" sometimes. :D Can't wait to hear my kids say things like this.

Thank goodness for those moments-they at least help you deal with all the rest. (The shoe is on the roof? LOL!)

What a Mother's Day you had. I particularly love the shoe on the roof as it brings back memories of a game we used to have to see who could throw their shoe over the house, but of course being rather small, their never quite made it. =)

Oh, I love number one! "Would you rather I Fabreeze you?" What a witty reply. Too funny, Kelly!

The one of the roof was my favorite but isn't this what being a mom is really all about.

I would love to be a fly on the wall in your house some time - it sounds like a very interesting place.

Awww so sweet! I love those. Although I send my kids out without a coat if they don't want to wear one. They usually come back in pretty quick, and I've yet to lose one to pneumonia (my mom's constant threat). I'm a mean mommy - no wonder you get the #10 so much!

Every one a gem, Kelly. I love the insight into your family life. By the way, who got the shoe off the roof?

Kelly, that was soooo funny! My favorite is the Mom you are right! I don't hear that too often.

Also, love the look of your blog...so classic looking!

Thanks beautiful for stopping by. You didn't have to read all three posts. Though I am truly grateful. Thank you! I know you're a busy lady. I wanted you to see the one about Sun Magazine because you asked me once did I know of any paying markets. Again, many thanks.

Visit whenever you can. Have a blessed week!

I loved reading these because it sounds all to familiar. Oh yes...24 almost gave me a stomach ache Monday night. Wowzers. jack is on a rampage.
It is all worth it when they tell you that you are the best! Love to hear those words.

Very sweet... We were cleaning out some drawers and found a love letter written to us when my oldest was around 6 - saying she loved us the mostest... priceless..

Love to you.

What a perfect Mother's Day post! It just typifies a day in Mom-ville. I'm so glad you wrote these down. These moments slip by too quickly and are easily forgotten. Although it's late, Happy Mother's Day to you!

Numbers 1 through 10 were the best:)

I was cleaning the loft and found some gems. These little things are so easily forgotten. It's fantastic that you've recorded them Kelly.

#2 could be read as a plea for you to stick the ball high in the bush, not recover a ball already stuck there. {*grin*}

Maybe it is related to the shoe on the roof quandary?

I laughed at the first comment because when my son doesn't have time to take a shower, he sprays himself with fragrance spray called Axe and then Febreeze his clothes!

Becca said...

Goodness! Your life is certainly something else!!! Those kids must keep you laughing {and pulling at your hair} all the time!! I loved the Febreeze response!

I hope you had a very enjoyable Mother's DaY!

Nicely captured snippets that make you Mom! (Loved #5. Struck a memory chord of my 30 year old, when she was two.)
