Here come those random thoughts

Considering that my brain is all over the place these days, I'll dive into a random post.

  • Huge black crows are battling in the branches outside my window. I'm having a Hitchcock moment as I eat my breakfast scone. Where are those cute birds singing for spring?

  • I ate that scone too fast. What was the rush? Now of course, I want another one. Why couldn't I savor the first?

  • As I sit here typing, I'm annoyed that the picture on my wall is crooked again. I have so many pictures on my walls. I'm always straightening them out. I think the kids (or little elves) are moving them just to drive me crazy!

  • Do you like my new template? Jillian loves pink, so I'm dedicating my new blog look to my little diva. She gave it a thumbs up.

  • Lots and lots and lots of together time with hubby. He's used to being out of the house; I'm used to him being out of the house. It's kind of strange bumping into each other all day.

  • I've been told that your hair has to be dirty in order for the hair color to stick. So for weeks now, I decided on a day to color my hair, and I skipped shampooing my hair. Of course, for a million different reasons, I don't get to color my hair. The days that I do shampoo my hair are usually the ones when I have the time. Today, my hair is definitely primed and ready. Let's see if I finally get it done. Yesterday at the bus stop, my 7 year old said to me in front of all those bus stop moms, "Mom, what's with your hair? It's a mess." Thanks kiddo.

  • Time to clean up the mess in the kitchen from my scone preparation this morning. I had a little flour explosion.

  • I need a new book to read. Any suggestions? I'm favoring historical fiction these days.

  • I have to catch up on Project Runway. I have my friends sworn to secrecy not to tell me the latest runway results.

  • My husband upgraded my phone for free to a texting phone. I don't think I'm the texting type. My kids think it's funny that I haven't even touched the keyboard on the phone yet. I'm such a laptop gal. I like typing the traditional way. I don't know if I could get used to the whole thumb typing thing.

I'll be visiting you all today during my lunch. Hopefully, I won't make another mess in the kitchen:) Happy Tuesday!

I love pink but I'm right off scones on the basis that I need to knock off a few pounds. I like this random post, since my brain is sort of disfunctional lately I might do something similar - if you don't mind.

I'm a pink girl too. I'm not much into texting. It's bad enough that just because we carry cell phones, that people think we are required to answer it. Texting just feels like more pressure!
Have a wonderful day!

Great list! You will like texting. I din't like it at first, but now it's great if I don't really want to "talk" to someone or get caught for an hour talking when I just had one thing to say. I just finished A Distant Melody and Beguiled. Both were great! :O)

I do like the new blog look...very crisp and pink. Love it! Tell Jillian it is perfect. I love scones. I can never eat just one. LOL about the Hitchcock moment. I hate that movie. So scary.
I hope you get your hair dyed today. I need to do mine too.

Just found your blog through the Skip to my Lou community discussion on "Lovely blogs." Someone mentioned yours, and here I am. It is a nice look! I like the stripes (and of course the pink).

Another fellow hair dyer here.....it's such a pain to squeeze it in each month. I'm not a fan, but it has to get done. This next time should be easier since I just got 6 inches cut off my hair!!

Texting - I don't do much of it because I really, really want a texting phone (w/ keyboard). It takes so long the other way, but like Diane...I now see the advantages!! I have the same ones. It's really great for hubby and I when one of us is out of town. And with hubby...the texting is another means of communicating...I love that sometimes I'm not even in the mood to talk to him, but the text is easy, quick, efficient and don't have to worry about tone in speech (as in offending each other). Doesn't happen much but certain times of the month I'm not very "chatty." ;)

Tell Jillian nice color choice for the blog!

Weekends are sometimes a struggle for me as I'm used to running things solo and when I have "help" the engine does not run as smoothly.

I like the template! Cheery! I too find it odd when my husband is home. It is hard for me not to "manage" him like I manage the kids.
And I hear you on the eating-too-quickly-and-not-savoring thing. Sometimes I feel like I don't even taste what I eat!

Nice blog template.

Leaning towards historical fiction?

Edward Rutherford has some fantastic stuff out. He's written a few based in England, one in Russia and I believe he has one set in Ireland.

Love your new blog look!
Love your random post as well! These days that seems to be the way my mind works!
I do not know how to text! I hardly even know how my cell phone works!
Right now I am into Jodi Picoult - just read "House Rules" and have just started "Change of Heart". (Sorry they aren't historical fiction. Have you read any by Diane Gabaldoran - loved her Scottish series)
Thanks for stopping by! I have to get back to Sun. Citar - I loved your quotes - made me laugh!

I have those random feeling days all the time. And scones, yum!!! Can you just send me one?? Or two? Yes, definitely two :)

I think you should try the keyboard, once you get used to it, you'll love it!

Oh ... I do like your new template!

And we have those same big crows around here to. What is up with that?????

Historical fiction? Not really my thing. But I did love "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan" if you are up for a trip to China.

Your new site is quite cute and suits you. I recently finished reading The Help which is on the bestsellers list. It is set in the 1960's in the south and deals with women, society, and race. I hope you have a wonderful day :)

I do love the new template - very clean and fresh and fun. It's my current favorite out there. Good luck with the coloring. I want to see results!

Love the ping AND the random thoughts. I'm cracking up over your hair washing deal. I've been there before. And I'll have to subscribe to your comments to see what others suggest for your new book to read. I love historical fiction. I bought two Tricia Goyer books for my grandfather this Christmas. She's well-known for her well-researched historical fiction books, but now that I've given them away I cannot read them. :( Sniff, sniff.

Hope the rest of your day is lovely!!

You can read about it on the upper right hand corner of my blog. http://www.warrenbaldwin.blogspot.com/

Haven't been reading much historical fiction of late so I don't have a book rec.

Re: texting - I text from my computer, my thumb is to big and mangled to use a phone keypad at any speed faster than a glacier before global warming.

I love your new blog look.... you look great in pink! Your random thoughts always amuse me b/c they are exactly the kinds of things I would be thinking. I'm such a mess in the kitchen too. You'll have to send me your scone recipe.... sounds delightful!

Your blog looks great. I would recommend 13 reasons why as an awesome book, but it is not your fav. genre. Loved this post BTW

"I'm such a lap top girl."

Funny to hear that's a developmental stopping point. I administer an achievement test to kids. One of the directions say, "You'll now see some typewritten sentences." (Old fashioned? You bet.)

(You will text. You will. You will.) ;-)

I don't text either. It takes me so long, I just call the person. I'm out of it I guess.
