My songs follow me

So yesterday I talked about "performing" for Jillian. Today I'll share with you the song that I tried to sing for my boys when it came on the radio. You can imagine their comments! I think Simon Cowell would be kinder :)

Way back when I was probably around 18, this song was a big deal. I would sing it every day over and over again. My parents were glad when I left to go to my part-time job at the supermarket. No more Kelly karaoke!

Michael Hutchence was a terrific front man. All that energy and talent. So sad that he's not here anymore. His voice still makes this "teen in a 40 something body" happy :) I love how songs stay with me through all phases of my life. They are wonderful companions through life's journey. I hope you enjoy this song!

If I wasn't such a chicken, I would post a video of my karaoke attempts. If only I liked a drink or two... Maybe I'll get brave soon to do it. My kids could be my backup singers. I think my boys would hide for sure. Jillian would run to get her microphone!

Yeah, some front man for sure. He is one to make the girls swoon, eh? Sexy! Nice voice too. Looking forward to your karaoke tune. Go for it, Kelly! We're waiting. :-)

I fourth the motion! Post the video of you!! I used to sing along ( at the top of my lungs ) with the Carpenters and Def Leppard when I cleaned. Oh, and the Judds and Reba. :) My poor parents and sisters.

Sounds like you've got a regular band going on there, with your back-up singers for support! Hm, is American Idol auditioning near you ;)

I fifth it! I'll even start the chant: Kel-ly! Kel-ly! Kel-ly!

I loved INXS. I remember the first time I saw the name in print, I asked my sister, "Who are The Inks?" My sister was like, "Duh! In Excess?"

I feel the same way about songs. They bring back memories so clearly. Love his voice. So distinct.

I remember when Michael Hutchence died ... it was so shocking (the how) and he was so young and cute and talented. Sigh.

I agree about INXS, so sad. Where's your YouTube Vid? Don't feel bad about singing to your kids whenever I sing my Anime jams they look at me with this blank stare.

Love the video.... Hey singing's fine, but if I catch you in those funky pants... I'm seriously sending someone over there... Keep moving, keep singing.... it gives the kids something to tell their friends. And guess what, you're the Mom every kid wants to have!! Blessings. Love and Light, Nina P

Me too!!!!!!! Give me a K. Give me an E.... You can do it. Back in Canada, we had a full band assembled in the basement and our parties were epic. I was often on lead vocals belting out anything by Stevie Nicks and four years ago, even Avril Lavigne. I really can't sing. But it was my basement and my right to think of myself as awesome! And I LOVE; LOVE INXS! Did you see the reality show where they chose a new lead singer for the band? We were rooting for him the whole way along but alas, he screwed up somewhow..JD Fortune was his name..and I don't think he's with them anymore. Anyhoo, noone can replace the SEX that is Hutchence.

My husband has this thing where he insists on singing "Who Are You, oo, oo, oo, oo..." EVERY TIME we watch CSI. And we Tivo it so he doesn't have to watch the intro at all.
