Poetry Quickfire

Sustenance

Wonder to entice
pulls me to the pane
as I stare through
cold October rain

Warmth of home
cannot hold me
as I pour with
cold October rain

Windows to create
look to clear frost
as I plunge into
cold October rain

World of tomorrow
must sprout life
as I water with
cold October rain

What a perfect day for these thoughts, it's just as you describe. That cold rain is transporting, isn't it.

This is my day in a nutshell.

This was a perfect poem for my day too! It's snowing and raining here today,on and off. The clouds are that beautiful black-gray, that are more striking than dull light gray. Loved it, Kelly.

This poem certainly fits my mood this evening-tired and crabby (and the rain doesn't help.)

Ah, so very nice, Kelly. Nice indeed. It's delicious, in fact. Sustenance is a great title.

What a perfect poem for October! It's a month of transition and you captured it so poetically perfect. "Warmth of home cannot hold me...". How true. Sustenance in the constant changing of the cold October Rain. Beautiful! Keep writing my friend, keep sharing. Blessings. Love and Light, Nina P

I love the escalation of this Kelly...stare, pour, plunge, water October rain. To me this is you...observing the signs of your goals, taking chances, watering your own soil; your life. How often have we watched future pass us by without seizing the moment and making something of it?

Good one, full of depth.

Oh gosh, Kelly, I like this one better than those I've seen. Beautiful!

I'd be curious to see a sketch alongside it... ;)

^ Of yours, I mean. This is the best yet.

Hey Septembermom! Thanks for visiting my sneaky interview. I wish I could get my little guy to nap at home, but that's almost impossible. So, yeah, it usually happens on the road between here and there.

Loved your poem! You're so talented!

That was so beautiful. I LOVED the refrain. Its so difficult to find the perfect set of words that are meaningful enough to repeat--You've done it.

It ended with such hope for new life and beginning, but given that I lean more toward the gothic side I was expecting a desolate kind of ending....
Your ending is better.

Very well done ... and I like the repeating line at the end. I'm sure that is called something but I don't know what it is! I'm clapping for you!
