Poetry Quickfire

Here's my five minute poetry quickfire. This is an interesting exercise for me because I just let my thoughts build and flow to see what develops. I'm super busy these days with school, activities and volunteering. The two tikes here are also keeping me on my toes! I promise to come visit all you wonderful bloggers soon!!

The Need for Nurture

Climb into my fantasy
of waves and wind
as a hopping mind
looks to float off
towards the promise
of gentle swaying
and cradling
a no longer infant
who could use
the warmth of womb.

That is beautiful.

I live the line that says
a no longer infant
who could use
the warmth of a womb.

It reminds me of how my 17 year old son still comes into my room to say good night by climbing under the covers with me for a good night hug before going off into his own private place for the night.

Kelly this is beautiful. Keep penning your quickfires, you definitely have the skill for it. It's amazing how emotions build and such lovely words spill out onto the page. Thanks for sharing!

Very nice. There are still days when I would like that kind of comfort.

This is beautiful, Kelly. I love these quickfires. The concept too is wonderful. Please continue to write them. Reading the poem, I did wonder if we ever get beyond nurturing? Perhaps many of us desire to re-enter the womb, not as a regression, but for nuturing--the sense memory.

Very nice, the lines about your fantasy of waves and wind brings me to the beach, walking along the shore, which also calms, nurtures ...

I really like this one. Even though my own kids are growing up soo soo fast, they keep showing me glimpses of their little selves who desperately need hugs from a Mom. I'll take that.
