An Embarrassing Moment

I blush easily. It doesn't take much to turn me all rosy cheeks. Well, speaking of "cheeks", here is an example of my taking multi-tasking one step too far today.

You know how I have two little ones charging through the house all day. My nephew literally barrels through most of the rooms. I tend to be on patrol most of the time. When it was just me and Jillian, I would try and do some stretches for a few minutes each day. Now I don't really get a chance to do my stretching with homework and after school activities.

Today, as the two little ones are happily drawing with chalk on the driveway, I decide to stretch in the fresh, crisp air. During the day, our block is very, very quiet. Practically deserted at times. I thought, "What's the harm in getting my stretches done for just 10 minutes outside?" Well, I was stretching along quite well when I nearly jumped out of my skin as my daughter said, "Mom look who's behind you." I was all bent over, posterior towards the street. A guy with a petition is standing there with a slight grin. I wonder if this guy was wearing ballet shoes and floated over to us. He just seemed to "appear" two feet away from me.

I flipped up into position probably too quick. My hair had that whole Bride of Frankenstein look as I became upright. If I was 21, I most likely would have been more embarrassed. I did blush initially, but I laughed it off pretty quick. Glad that I didn't fall over when my daughter announced this guy's arrival. I would probably be in some kind of traction right now.

Now the question remains: Should I stretch outside again? Maybe I'll just face the street this time:)

Stopping by to say thanks so much for your prayers during my recent illness. I am still really, really weak but I'm gaining strength each and every day. I will be posting more about my illness and hospital stay as soon as I'm a little stronger.

I hope the rest of your week is amazing.

Blessings,

Teresa <><

Go ahead, stretch outside, if it's a quiet neighborhood, it will give them something to talk about. Hehe. I would NEVER do that outside, too many strange positions to find oneself in. Lol

Too funny. You left out the most important part though...was he at least cute?

That's pretty funny. The guy really should have coughed or cleared his throat or something while he was walking your way.

Keep on stretching.

Kelly, that is priceless! I say go for it again. Maybe next time Ashton will come out and say you're punked! :-) No seriously, what are the odds of you seeing this person again anyway? At least you got your stretches in and you offered some free entertainment for a guy too. ;-)

Ah, the most embarrassing moments turn out to be the funnies - later!

How funny! I'm sure it did make the guy's day. Was he hot? lol- not that you were interested.

:) I'd say you should keep up the stretching. :)

All I can do is laugh. I'd be startled out of my wits and then, like you turn beet red. I guess I have to agree. When time is short and kids need watching, stretch whenever and where ever you can! Go for it! Blessings to you and yours, Love and Light, Nina P

Funny how we're less embarrassed by things the older we get! It is beautiful fall weather here on the east coast, I can understand how it was so difficult to stay indoors. A gorgeous day here too.

Well you've got to get the excercise in somehow. It was chilly where I am in NY. I can't imagine how you do it : )

HAHA! I bet he will find a reason to stop by again!

The real question was what was the petition for and did you sign? The rest was probably immaterial to the gentleman in question.

doing streching outside is far better than doing it inside. it gives you a bit of fresh air! face the gate next time will be a better position to do so...ha!ha!ha!

Analisa said...

Yes keep it up. It would have creeped me out especially with him grinning. LOL

I can totally picture that ... and I was right there with you! One of the benefits of our "advanced age" is that this kind of stuff doesn't mortify you like it once did. I bet he got a nice laugh and you got a nice blog post. All in all, a good deal. I would continue to stretch outside! Who cares!!!!!

Oh my goodness! That is too funny! Laughed hard because I completely pictured the whole thing in my mind. :)
