Tot Talk Tuesdays

My friend, Shaye over at Miller Memories, invited me to participate in Tot Talk Tuesdays over at The Monkeys and Me. If you would like to play along, just click on the Tot Talk image and join in the fun!

The tot running around my house is my 3 1/2 year old daughter, Jillian. Like me, she has a lot to say. Having 3 big brothers, she is very particular about categorizing girl things and boy things. Now it looks like she wants to help Daddy stay on the boy side:

Jillian: "Mommy, you have a pink room."

Me: "It is a pretty rose color, don't you think?"

Jillian: "Mommy, this is a girl's room. Daddy can't stay here."

Me: "This is Daddy's room too. He needs a place to sleep."

Jillian: "Mommy, boys can't stay in a pink room! Maybe we should build him another house."

I guess I better paint my bedroom a new color, or Jillian will give Daddy a hammer and some wood to start building.

Enjoy your Tuesday!!

Oh how stinkin' CUTE! I was laughing out loud...seriously. It's so funny when our children begin making those types of decisions. I can never tell if it's a societal thing or something they really come up with on their own. But it's too funny!

Thanks for joining in. Did you add your link to Niecey's list? I hope so!!!

Hugs,

~Shaye

What a precious conversation. My 3 year old has been lobbying for a girls room and a boys room for quite some time. Hubby won't go for it though.

That is SOOO cute! It may be a little bit nice for your husband to have his own room (although his own house may be a bit much!:)) because then you don't have to deal with sharing a bed, snoring, etc! :)

Excellent! Five year old regularly points out appropriate boy and girl things to do, including dividing out blue and red m & m's..

Cute!! Your husband must be pretty nice, to let you paint the bedroom rose. I can't imagine my boyfriend agreeing to that. Who knows, guess he could surprise me one day.

I love hearing "tot talk" and seeing the world as they do for a moment. Too precious. :)

You're doing well! I once heard a marriage counselor say that a couple's bedroom always has to be feminine--pink (or her favorite color,) frilly, lacy, etc. That way a woman feels like a woman and the man appreciates her femininity. He said the smart man, if he "wants any" will always let the woman decorate the bedroom.

Little Jillian sounds like a DOLL!

The things little kids say are so hilarious! However, it would be nice to just have a mommy room, don't you think?

Don't you just love that tot perspective? It sure sheds an easy light on life, keeping things humorous as she sees life through her child eyes. Something we all need to do every now and then!

Too funny! And my 4-year-old is very very concerned with having only BOY things and BOY toys and BOY colors ... I guess this is a developmental stage. So cute!

This is very cute!! I like little Jillian. If this keeps up, you will both be sleeping in seperate beds like they did on those old movies. Oh, I have an idea. Maybe you can paint half the room blue and leave the other have pink. : )
